Bundaberg Master Distiller’s Blender’s Edition 2014

Aromas of charred wood dominate a chocolate note, then dark earthy roots like anise and sassafras, dark raisin, some baking notes, fruit cake notes before honey develops as tears run down the glass. The smooth sweet honey-like entry leads to a Zinfandel mid-palate which continues to dry with notes of dark chocolate, raisins, easy on the baking spices, moving to a sherry finish with dark charred wood. Baking spices persist through the long finish.
