Aromas of prunes, raisins and root beer lead to buttery figs and wine ferment before rancio comes in late with wonderful charred vanillin wood, cream soda, butter and warm cinnamon rolls. On the palate, it starts like a dessert, but not too sweet as a welcome warmth develops rich structure of complex caramel, baking spices and dried fruit. A slightly bitter note at the end keeps it dry.
